Farewell to Bulmershe alumni event

On Saturday 11 December, to coincide with the last night of the Bulmershe Research Production, the Department welcomed its alumni for a ‘Farewell to Bulmershe’ event. Past students of the Department enjoyed tea and cake, meeting up with fellow alumni, and a chance to see the production – a piece on the work of Gertrude Stein directed by Lib Taylor. A further event is planned to welcome all our graduates to the new building.

Counting Her Dresses

This week sees the opening of this year’s Bulmershe Production, a mixed-media promenade performance devised and directed by Professor Lib Taylor as part of her practice as research. Called ‘Counting her Dresses’, the piece explores the life and theatre writings of renowned American writer and critic Gertrude Stein, a significant figure in the early twentieth century Modernist movement. Performances begin at 7pm on the 8th, 9th and 10th in Bob Kayley Studio Theatre. For more information see: http://www.reading.ac.uk/ftt/research/ftt-Gertrude-Stein.aspx
