Department lecturer Dr Simone Knox has worked with Meteorology colleague Ross Reynolds to deliver an immersive learning experience for students.
This interdepartmental initiative used the facilities in the Minghella Building’s new Film and TV Studio to give Meteorology students experience in devising, predicting and presenting a weather report. FTT’s green screen and multi-camera studio enabled students to produce high-quality presentations and develop their transferable skills.
Knox and Reynolds collaborative project has been awarded a grant from the Teaching & Learning Development Fund to allow the purchase of a new piece of equipment (a DVI input board) which will further aid the professionalization of this learning experience in the multi-camera studio.
